Defiant Ukrainian troops who responded to a Russian warship's demands to surrender by telling them to 'go f*** yourself' have been honoured by a baker in the US who has made a cookie bearing the message.

The 13 brave border guards were hailed as heroes after an audio recording of their last words hit the headlines.

The Kremlin warship's officer told the guards: "This is a Russian military warship.

"I suggest you lay down your weapons and surrender to avoid bloodshed and needless casualties. Otherwise, you will be bombed."

But the brave soldiers replied: "Russian warships, go f*** yourselves!"

Tragically, all the border guards were killed in an aerial bombardment of Snake Island from Putin's invading military.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky acknowledged their deaths and said he will issue posthumous honours to the soldiers who were killed after refusing to surrender.

The Best Little Cookie House In Texas has paid its own tribute to the troops by baking a cookie adorned in Ukrainian flag icing with their iconic response written on it.

The bakery, based in Corpus Christie, shared a photo of the cookie in a Facebook post that read: "13 Ukrainian soldiers guarding Snake Island to a Russian military warship when told to lay down their weapons and surrender.

"I knew I was going to ditch today’s cookie when all this went down this week.

"Wasn’t sure what I was going to do in its place. The Ghost of Kyiv? How nobody wins in war? Idk.

"Then I came across this story this morning and I knew.

"If I lose my life at the hands of someone else, I hope I’m brave enough for my last words to be “go f**k yourself.”

The bakery uploaded the photo to the album 'Offensive Cookie Friday' and was inundated with responses.

The owners said they were not selling the cookie, however.

One social media user wrote: "I'm heartbroken that the rest of the world is allowing this take over of a sovereign nation. He won't stop here.

"And we essentially are greenlighting it with meaningless sanctions. So sad for all that call Ukraine home."

Another wrote: "Thank you for sharing this. These Ukrainian men are heroes! It crushed my soul when I read what happened. I have made your cookie my profile pic."

The Snake Island, or Zmiinyi Island as it's known in Ukrainian, is located about 30 miles off Ukraine's coast, with a total land area is less than one-tenth of a square mile.

Though it is only about 46 acres (18 hectares) in size, a report last year from the non-partisan Atlantic Council think tank called it "key to Ukraine's maritime territorial claims" in the Black Sea.
