Denver to test emergency sirens Wednesday

You may hear sirens late Wednesday morning if you’re in Denver, but it’s not about the moth invasion.

Denver’s Office of Emergency Management will be testing the live sirens at 11 a.m. after the test was postponed several weeks ago due to potential severe weather.

“The testing is solely meant to ensure Denver’s emergency technology is functional, therefore residents should not be alarmed,” emergency management officials said in a news release. “During the test, there is no need to take action.”

The sirens will be tested throughout the city and at Denver International Airport and will be able to be heard for about three minutes.
