Denver weather: Breezy and mild days downtown

Hang onto your hat the next few days in Denver; stiff winds could pull caps from any keppie.

According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, Denver will reach a sunny 56 degrees on Wednesday. Increasingly strong winds throughout the day could be over 30 mph by the end of the day. The winds should subside after sunset on the plains, but they’ll only increase in the mountains, possibly reaching 70 mph gusts in some spots. Slick travel conditions could exist at times in the high country as morning snow tappers off. In Denver, the low is expected to be 32 degrees.

Thursday will also be windy downtown, as gusts could once again howl above 25 mph. Veterans Day should be sunny and reach 56 degrees before dipping below freezing overnight. There’s a 20% chance of rain or snow in the evening. Not much, if any, accumulation is expected from the slushy precipitation.

Friday will clear up as temperatures reach 54 degrees under the sun.

Highs this weekend should be in the 60s.
