Four killed in Denver shootings within 24 hours

Four people killed by gunshots on Friday and Saturday include two women and a 16-year-old boy, according to a news release from the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.

The dead are:

Aniyus Contreras, 16, who was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:37 a.m. Friday after police were called to a shooting in the 15200 block of East 40th Avenue.

Elwood Johnson, 33, who died at Denver Health Medical Center after he was shot early Saturday morning in the 4900 block of East Donald Avenue.

Taryn Meyer, 38, who also was shot in the 4900 block of East Donald Avenue and died from her injuries at Denver Health Medical Center.

Nemoi Tafoya, 41, who was pronounced dead at Denver Health after being shot Saturday night in 4700 block of North Vine Street.

All of the deaths were declared homicides, the medical examiner’s news release said. No arrest have been reported by Denver police.
