A funeral procession for slain Arvada police Officer Gordon Beesley will trigger intermittent road and highway closures Tuesday morning, city officials said.

The funeral for Beesley, the 19-year veteran killed in an ambush in Olde Town Arvada last week, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Flatirons Community Church in Lafayette.

The service is closed to the public, but it will be streamed online at flatironschurch.com/memorial.

Arvada officials advise drivers to avoid the procession route between 8 and 10 a.m. Tuesday due to anticipated closures.

The route, according to Arvada officials, is as follows:

  • Procession begins between 8:15 and 8:30 a.m. at Interstate 25 and Highway 7
  • Travels west on Highway 7
  • South on North 119th
  • North 119th turns into 120th Street
  • 120th Street to South Boulder Road
  • West on South Boulder Road to Flatirons Community Church
