Gang of ‘remorseless’ rapists assaulted woman they lured home from nightclub

Four rapists have been jailed for a total of more than 71 years for inflicting "one of the worst assaults" on a woman they met at a London nightclub.

Octavian Lupu, Andrei Rotaru, Alexandru Cimbir and Dmitri Ceban bought the victim drinks before luring her to a house where they each repeatedly raped her.

The men were each sentenced for charges of rape at Isleworth Crown Court on Wednesday, May 12, My London reports.

The attack took place in August 2017, after the men subjected the victim to a prolonged and repeated attack after meeting her at a nightclub in Ealing.

The court heard that Lupu, 31, of Coldharbour Lane, in Hayes, was seen on CCTV approaching several women in the club before dancing with the victim and buying her drinks.

The victim's phone wasn't working, so she left the nightclub with Lupu who offered to help organise her a taxi home.

She then recalled being put into the back of a car with the four men who drove her to an address in Northolt where they each repeatedly raped her. The horrific attack lasted approximately 90 minutes.

The men then returned the victim's clothes and arranged for a taxi to take her home.

She managed to get to hospital where she contacted police who attended the hospital and began an investigation into the attack.

Police were able to use the CCTV from inside the nightclub and the ID entry system to identify the four men who were later arrested and interviewed, all denying the allegations and giving varying accounts of what had happened.

Detective Constable Angie Meadows described the attack as "one of the worst assaults I have ever dealt with" and said the men "deserve such lengthy prison sentences".

Detective Constable Meadows added: "The victim was on a night out with her friends when she was subjected to a horrific ordeal by these men who have expressed no remorse for their actions throughout the course of the investigation.
