A German shepherd did several double-takes when she encountered a cat on a leash while out for a walk, as shown in a hilarious video.
In the clip, which has been watched more than 300,000 times on TikTok, a Bengal cat is out being walked on a lead when the curious dog tries to say hello.
Alfie the cat doesn't look in the least bit fazed by the large pooch, which keeps leaping back in shock every time the kitty boldly walks towards her.
Clearly confused by the situation, the dog tries to sniff the cat's rear end to figure out what is going on but keeps getting spooked when the feline stares him down.
The German shepherd's owner, who is kneeling next to the pooch, says: "She knows cats and Alfie obviously knows she's not a threat."
Scratching Alfie behind the ears, he adds: "It's so lovely to meet you!"
The video was uploaded on TikTok by Alfie's owner and user @bastfuriends who said training at an early age enabled her cat to enjoy walking on a leash safely.
She said that if a dog ever acts out-of-control or looks like it might not be well socialised with felines, she picks up Alfie and holds him until the danger has passed.

Alfie's owner says he is not able to hunt small animals while exploring the Australian countryside on a harness and leash, making it better for wildlife.
The video was "liked" more than 50,000 times on the video-sharing app and people were quick to admire confident Alfie and his attitude towards dogs.
Posting laughing emojis, one user wrote: "I’d be more scared of Alfie than these dogs."
"Doggo doesn’t quite know what to make of kitty but definitely positively curious," commented a second person.
Someone else joked: "That dog is just like why is a cat out here?! This is great!"
This comes after a stunned pet owner used a tracker to find out her cat was "cheating" by staying at five different houses.
