A hilarious wedding video shows a groom being tricked into kissing his prankster father-in-law who is hiding under his daughter's veil.
In the clip, the groom is ushered by giggling spectators towards his "bride" who is concealed under a red and gold silk veil.
He then leans forward and plants a kiss on the face of the seated figure – jumping back in shock when, instead of his beautiful betrothed, he finds his cheeky father-in-law under the veil.
The groom runs away while the crowd, filming on phones, erupts into laughter at the raucous wedding in the Chinese city of Jiaxing.
According to the news site Weibo, the father of the bride thought it would be a funny idea to take his daughter's place during a wedding run-through.
He threw on his daughter's veil and waited for the groom to arrive with flowers to kiss his bride.
The filming guests were in on the joke but apparently, the groom only started to suspect something was wrong when everyone started laughing after the smooch.
It was then he lifted the veil from his bride's face and found the culprit.
The video was widely-shared on Douyin, the Chinese equivalent of TikTok, where many viewers fully supported the father-in-law's trickster behaviour and others said he was an attractive man.
Meanwhile, a similar prank saw a bride blindfold her new husband and have him believe he was pulling a lace garter off her leg.
In fact, the intimate scene was happening with his bearded mate who was laughing throughout the ordeal.
And in an eye-popping display, a bride stripped down to a backless wedding dress to twerk for her husband in a bum-exposing thong.
