Holiday tragedy: British tourist, 21, found dead in swimming pool while away with parents

Despite efforts to save his life, the young man sadly died.

A lifeguard, along with other members of staff at the hotel, gave the man first aid while they waited for paramedics to arrive at the scene.

These were unable to regain his consciousness.

The man was found in the pool at 6pm local time.

He was rushed to Paphos hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9pm.

The holiday-goer was incubated in the Intensive Care Unit Department, according to the Cyprus Mail.

The paper added that local police are now investigating how in the incident in the swimming pool unfolded.

An autopsy is due to be carried out.

The identity of the young men remains private.
