A series of changes to the status of the Royal Family are expected under the reign of King Charles III, but one change could come for his step-children.

The newly-ascended King of England shook up the Royal Family almost immediately with a series of title changes necessary to the working order of The Firm.

Prince William and wife Kate Middleton became the Prince and Princess of Wales respectively, while King Charles III gave up the title bestowed to his eldest son.

But the future of Charles' step-children, Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopes, is still up in the air, especially when it comes to royal titles.

It appears likely that neither Bowles or Lopes will receive a new title, despite their mother Camilla seeing an upgrade to Queen Consort after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

The lack of titles for Lopes and Bowles comes as part of royal protocol, with titles passed on via birth or marriage, meaning Camilla's kids will miss out on any titles.

This is due to their father, Andrew Parker Bowles, holding no titles of his own in the Royal Family, OK! reported.

Despite that, food writer Tom and art curator Laura appear to be showing their support for the family, with an outpouring as recent as the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

Both were in attendance at the funeral of the 96-year-old monarch alongside fellow Royal Family figures including Prince William and Prince Harry.

There were also rumours that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's children, Archie and Lilibet, could lose out on their royal titles.

Upon the ascension of King Charles III, his grandchildren are automatically distributed a royal title, but that could be set to change, Daily Star reported.

The news comes as one expert believes King Charles III could "cause an act of war" with the Sussexes should he torpedo the royal titles for Archie and Lilibet.
