A kitten was rescued from under a car bonnet after surviving a 30-mile trip and speeds of 65mph.
Rosalind O’Brien was driving from her house in Winsford, Cheshire, to her mum’s in Neston last Tuesday.
She heard a meow coming from inside the car but wasn’t able to spot the cat, a seven-week-old male called Yaris.
Ms O’Brien had seen it outside her house the night before, but he ran away after she approached him.
She told the Express and Star: “In the morning, I didn’t hear him or see him but, as I’d last seen him near the car, I even checked under the car to see if he was there and didn’t see anything.
“Then I got in and drove to my mum’s house. It’s a 30-mile journey and I was doing about 65mph for part of it so he was so lucky he didn’t get burned.
“I didn’t hear a thing in the car but I did have the music on quite loud.
“When I pulled up I heard that meow again and I thought, oh my God he’s in the car!”
RSPCA Inspector Caren Goodman-James said: “It wasn’t an easy rescue. It was quite tricky getting the kitten out.

Binxy, who was just a year old, was found dead near her home in Warrington, Cheshire, on August 16.
Her ribs were broken on her left-hand side, which had fatally punctured her lung.
A yellow BB gun pellet and beer bottles were found near the body.
A vet said Binxy's injuries had been caused by blunt force trauma, which could mean anything from being kicked or being shot with the BB gun, Cheshire Live reported.
