Man found with gunshot wound in Aurora McDonald’s parking lot dies; police search for suspect

A wounded man who was found in a McDonald’s parking lot in Aurora died from his injuries, police said Tuesday.

According to a news release, police responded to a report of a shooting at the 2600 block of South Park Road at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Upon arrival, police found a man who sustained an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital, and the man later died, police said.

The police’s Major Crimes Homicide Unit and detectives are investigating the case. The only available information about a possible suspect in the case, police said, is they are looking for someone in a silver vehicle.

The victim’s identity will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office once his next of kin is notified.
