"We would like to thank everyone for their condolences, but would now respectfully request that we are given the time and space to grieve."

Earlier this week, West Mercia Police arrested three men aged 47, 45, and 34, and two women aged 34 and 66 over Mollie's death.

All five, from Telford, have been released on bail and enquiries continue.

Murder detectives have said they believe Mollie was attacked close to a Premier Store in Haybridge Road, Hadley, on the night of Monday, March 22, before leaving the scene with a friend.

She returned home to Hill Road, Overdale, before her body was discovered.

Friends have paid tribute to Mollie, with one, Edna, writing on Facebook: "My heart goes out to all of Mollie's beautiful family.

"I will miss seeing Mollie's beautiful smile, she was beautiful inside and out."

Ella added: "In so much shock, so sorry to hear this and my heart goes out to Mollie's family and beautiful kiddies."

Kelly commented: "RIP Molly, such a beautiful soul. You will be so sadly missed."

Police are appealing for anyone with information relating to the assault and suspicious death to come forward.

Mollie's cause of death has not been released.

Detective Inspector Rich Roberts from West Mercia Police said: "A murder investigation has been launched and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the assault in Haybridge Road on Monday evening.

"We'd also like to hear from anyone who has dashcam fitted to their car and was driving near to the Premier Store.

"It is possible they may have captured footage which may help with our enquiries."

Due to earlier police contact following the alleged assault, the incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
