A mum and her young daughter drowned after being swept away by rapids during a tragic family trip to a waterfall.
Andrea Michalski, 46, Ana Sophia Michalski, 9, as well as Andrea's brother-in-law Cid de Padua, 44, died trying to cross raging waters at the Cachoeira do Riva (Riva Waterfall) in Brazil on April 21.
The trio were on a trip to the picturesque site with four other relatives when disaster struck.
While the four survivors had managed to cross the water, the three victims were caught by surprise and dragged around half a mile by the fast-moving water, the Mirror reports.
There had been a huge increase in water levels in the area due to rainstorms in the days leading up to their deaths, which had also caused a nearby river to flood.
An unnamed relative told the Band B site: "Three sisters, the husband of one of them and three more children went to the waterfall to spend the day.

"Two women managed to cross with the boys, but when Andrea went to try, the head of the water came and pinned her to the stone."
Firefighters recovered the bodies from further down the river.
Friends of the family expressed their shock at such a huge loss on social media, Band B added.
One wrote: "I would like someone to let me know that it is a mistake, that I confused or had a nightmare.
