Jake Davison, the murderous loner who took the lives of three people in Plymouth, called himself "the Devil" and told friends he was 'going to hell.'

The chilling details have emerged after the 22-year-old's rampage in the Devon city where he shot dead his own mother before killing a young girl, called Sophie, her father, Lee Martyn, 43, Stephen Washington, 59, and Kate Shepherd, 66.

The apparently US-born incel claimed his victims in a random attack with a pump-action shotgun, before turning the gun on himself.

Soon after the attack that shook the country, Davison's dark online life was brought to light.

The gunman uploaded a series of disturbing YouTube videos prior to carrying out the attack at about 6.10pm on Thursday and followed a series of pro-gun accounts.

In one, Davison complained that he was still a "fat" and "ugly virgin".

Now, his horrified neighbours have now told how the loner "freaked" them out.

Speaking to The Sun, one neighbour said: "He called himself the Devil. He said his name was Satan.

"I thought he was just being weird and joking but clearly he was deadly serious. He didn’t say much more than that. We left him alone.

"When someone comes up and says they’re the Devil it freaks you out. He also said he would end in hell.

"I’ll never forget it. It was chilling. He was the sort of person you thought would end up on the news for murdering someone."

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said they are investigating Devon and Cornwall Police over Davison's firearms licence after he was given his pump-action shotgun back by police last month after it was confiscated in December, following an allegation of assault.

In other chilling videos of Davison, he likened himself to the Terminator, an assassin movie character played by Arnold Swarzenegger.

"It's like in the Terminator, the whole premise of the Terminator movies is that everything's rigged against you, there's no hope for humanity," he said.

"We're on the brink of extinction, these machines are unstoppable killing machines that can't be beaten. But yet, humanity still tries to fight to the end.

"I know it's a movie but I like to think sometimes I'm a Terminator."

Davison claimed he was born in Arizona, USA, on his Facebook page.

He had previously shared US propaganda and Donald Trump quotes, and likes Incel TV, a support group for "involuntary celibates".

Describing the attack – the worst mass shooting in Britain since 2010 – eyewitness Sharron earlier told the BBC: "Firstly, there was shouting, followed by gunshots – three possibly four to begin with.

"This was when the shooter kicked in the door of a house and randomly started shooting.

"He ran from the house shooting as he ran and proceeded to shoot at a few people in the linear park up from the drive."

The flurry of terror lasted six minutes before Davison killed himself.
