The Royal Family has released an adorable photograph of Prince Philip and the Queen with their great-grandchildren.

Keen photographer Kate Middleton is understood to have taken the snap at Balmoral Castle in 2018.

It features her and Prince William's three children Prince George, Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte as well as the children of Mike and Zara Tindall, Lena Tindall, and Mia Tindall.

Savannah Phillips and Isla Phillips, the children of Peter Philip's the Princess Royal's son, are also seen with their grandparents in the photograph.

Buckingham Palace released the snap following the death of the Duke of Edinburgh on Friday April 9 aged 99.

On Monday (April 12) the Palace released a heartwarming picture with Prince George alongside Prince William’s tribute to his grandfather.

In the tribute, William said he will never take for granted the memories his children have with the Duke of Edinburgh.

The snap shows a two-year-old Prince George on a carriage with his great-grandfather while the Queen's consort holds the reins and whip.
