Russia’s defence minister has been told to “shoot himself” by a Kremlin official, after Russia suffered heavy losses in the Kherson region. Kirill Stremousov, who was appointed head of Kherson last week made the comments after Ukraine announced it had retaken 400m2 and liberated nearly 30 towns and villages in the region. In a video posted on social media, Mr Steemousov said: “A lot of people say that the defence minister, as an officer who let that happen, could shoot himself.
“But you know what, the word ‘officer’ is not familiar for some people.”
Mr Stremousov added that the majority of Russia’s military elite was made up of “useless and corrupt generals and looters”.
