The Arapahoe County coroner on Tuesday identified the Shotgun Willie’s employee killed in a Friday night in a stabbing spree at the Glendale strip club.
Andrew Paul Todis, 40, died of sharp force injuries, the coroner’s office said in a news release.
The attacker, 40-year-old Kyle Swain of Arvada, died of gunshot wounds, the coroner said. Police said Swain had recently been barred from the club because of “erratic behavior.”
He entered Shotgun Willie’s around 9:50 p.m Friday with a large knife and stabbed employees and one patron before being shot and killed, police said. The other three individuals were hospitalized.
The club, in a statement Friday, said it would be closed for the foreseeable future as it supports its grieving staff.
In honor of Todis, Shotgun Willie’s is organizing a bike ride at 3:30 p.m. from the club to Cook Park via the Cherry Creek Trail, the establishment said in a Facebook post.
Shotgun Willie’s also shared a GoFundMe to help pay medical expenses for injured employee Rob Thigpen. The fundraiser has raised nearly $17,000 as of Tuesday afternoon.
