The whole of the UK is under a yellow weather warning from the Met Office, with snow in place until midnight in parts of Scotland and northern England, wind and rain warning in Northern Ireland until 9am on Wednesday, wind warnings for most of England and an ice warning in the north-west. Just a week after Storm Arwen battered the UK, Storm Barra has barrelled over from the Atlantic and may leave people without power, disrupt travel and make accidents and injuries more likely.

River in Cork flooding

Those in Cork should be careful when travelling to school or work this morning.

Images shared by RTE reporter Jennie O’Sullivan show water from the River Lee flooding onto the nearby road at 7.24am.

There is a red wind warning in place for Cork and Kerry this morning.
