Topless protesters storm stage during Bernie Sanders’ campaign rally

A topless protester stormed the stage during Bernie Sanders' Carson City Presidential campaign rally.

The former congressman is currently bidding to become the Democratic Party's presidential candidate in the upcoming 2020 elections.

He's been hitting the campaign trail in the hope he will be picked to become the Democratic challenger to Republican President Donald Trump when America goes to the polls in November.

But as he visited Carson City on Sunday things seemed to hit a bit of a snag.

As he addressed the cheering crowd, a woman jumped on stage and tried unsuccessfully to snatch the microphone right out of Bernie's hand.

After her failed attempt she did manage to take a mic from the plinth and said: "Bernie I am your biggest supporter and I am here to ask you to stop propping up the dairy industry and to ask you to stop propping up animal agriculture."

She added "I believe in you" before her mic was cut off.

Two topless associates then took to the stage and they reportedly poured milk over themselves.

A live video on Bernie Sanders' Facebook page then momentarily cuts out while the protesters are removed from the stage.

In photos from the rally the topless protesters appeared to also spill pink liquid as she was led away by a security guard.

When he came back to the stage Bernie said: "This is Nevada, there's always a little bit of excitement – at not extra cost.

"Except we've got a lot of water on the stage."
